Hip Society Honors Dr. Thomas Mallory With 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award

Thomas H. Mallory, MD, has received the 2012 Hip Society Lifetime Achievement Award, according to an AAOS Now report.

Dr. Mallory, a retired orthopedic surgeon, is the founder of Joint Implant Surgeons and was among the first surgeon in Columbus, Ohio, to perform total hip and knee replacements. During his career, he designed the Mallory Head Total Hip System.

Dr. Mallory was a professor at The Ohio State University and served on the editorial boards for many publications. He earned his medical degree and completed his orthopedic residency at Ohio State University. His additional training included a hip surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston.
