Ambulatory care services, which include physicians’ offices and ASCs, added 8,700 jobs in May, with total seasonally adjusted employment at 5.9 million, up from 5.89 million in April. Physicians’ offices added 2,500 jobs, whereas outpatient care centers lost 300 jobs in May.
Hospitals reported a loss of 3,300 jobs in May, with total seasonally adjusted employment at 4.707 million jobs, down from 4.711 million in April.
