Healthcare Employment Growth Limited in September

Employment in the healthcare sector changed little last month, adding just 6,800 jobs, according to the most recent seasonally adjusted numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Most of the growth in the sector came from the ambulatory healthcare services — including home health services, physician offices and outpatient care centers — which added 8,1000 jobs. Hospitals gained just 300 jobs last month.
