Georgia hospital to host concussion symposium: 3 notes

Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Gwinnett Medical Center’s Concussion Institute will host a concussion symposium Nov. 9 at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, according to Gwinnett Daily Post.

Here are three things to know:

1. The symposium will cover topics including best practices and protocols for concussion care, concussion care challenges and concussion management in the workplace and classroom.

2. The Georgia-based Concussion Institute at Gwinnett Medical Center–Duluth is housed within the GMC Sports Medicine Program, which comprises more than 60 certified athletic trainers.

3. Gwinnett Medical Center’s concussion institute was one of the first comprehensive concussion centers in the Southeast.
