Wade Smith, MD, director of the orthopedic trauma program at Geisinger Health System in Danville, Pa., has been awarded a $97,000 grant from the Orthopaedic Trauma Association for a pilot program to care for patients recovering from hip fractures.
The program will be incorporated into Geisinger’s ProvenHealth Navigator advanced medical home, which provides constant care for patients involving close collaboration among specialists, hospital systems and primary care providers.
