Florida County Sets New Guidelines for Pain Clinics

Manatee County in Florida this week approved a new ordinance designed to regulate existing pain clinics in the county and cut down on those that sell prescription drugs for profit, according to a Bradenton Herald report.

The ordinance bans cash-only payments; limits hours of clinic operation; and requires clinics to keep records of prescribed medications that are subject to inspection. All pain clinics are also required to have a permit issued by the county.
