FDA Recalls Power Pro Handpieces From Linvatec

The FDA has announced a recall of Power Pro Handpieces from the Linvatec Corp. in Largo, Fla., according to a recall notice from the FDA.

These powered surgical handpieces have attachable drills, blades, small cutting devices and other tools for orthopedic surgery.

The FDA reports the device has a switch problem: it may self-activate without pushing the trigger, continue running after releasing the trigger or run in unintended directions.
