Facet Solutions Buys Archus Orthopedics

Hopkinton, Mass.-based Facet Solutions, a developer of surgical devices for spinal disorder treatments, has acquired Redmond, Wash.-based Archus Orthopedics, a spine disorder implants manufacturer, according to a Facet release.

Archus had announced that it was shutting down and dissolving operations in September.

With the acquisition of Archus, Facet now holds 36 patents as well as 200 patent applications. The acquisition also strengthens Facet’s position in lumbar spine motion preservation surgery, according to officials from Facet.

Facet is also currently enrolling patients in its ACADIA lumbar stenosis study.
