1. Dr. Meyers performed double hernia surgery on Mr. Dyson last year.
2. Mr. Dyson was placed on the disabled list July 5 with a strained right groin.
3. While on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno last week, Mr. Dyson said he began to experience discomfort in his lower core area.
4. Dr. Meyers will perform the surgery next week, and the focus of the procedure will be on Mr. Dyson’s right abductor muscle.
5. Dr. Meyers is the founder of the Vincera Foundation in Philadelphia. He specializes in core muscle injuries, hernia and hydrocele repair, and general surgery.
