Dr. William Clancy Returns to University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health

William Clancy, MD, who founded the sports medicine program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, is returning to the university as a faculty member, according to a university news release.

Dr. Clancy was previously in private practice in Birmingham, Ala., where he served as team physician for the University of Alabama and Jacksonville State. He is credited for developing the ACL and PCL reconstruction techniques used by surgeons across the country.

Dr. Clancy is a past president of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and has served as the team physician for athletes at several Olympic Games events.
