Mr. Moreland had been suffering from tendonitis during the second half of the 2011 season. Dr. Graham was able to remove a small bone at the base of his wrist during a procedure earlier this week. The wrist is currently in a soft splint and Mr. Moreland will begin rehabilitation shortly.
Mr. Moreland expects to play in the first spring training game for the 2012 season after spending eight to 12 weeks recovering from the surgery.
