Dr. Thomas Graham performs surgery on Cleveland Indians’ fielder Bradley Zimmer: 3 things to know

Thomas Graham, MD, performed surgery on Cleveland Indians center fielder Bradley Zimmer, according to cleveland.com.

Here are three things to know:

 

1. Dr. Graham performed internal fixation surgery on Mr. Zimmer’s fourth metacarpal. He also inserted a metal plate with nine screws to help heal the fielder’s left hand.

 

2. Mr. Zimmer broke his hand last Sunday when he slid headfirst into first base.

 

3. Dr. Graham will examine Mr. Zimmer’s hand again in two weeks; however, Mr. Zimmer’s initial recovery time is predicted between six and eight weeks.
