Mr. Gallo experienced nagging wrist pain throughout the season and left a July 23 game in the eighth inning once the pain grew unbearable. After Dr. DiLiberti examined him, it was determined surgery was the only option. The team expects Mr. Gallo will be out for at least four weeks.

Dr. DiLiberti is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand injuries at Dallas-based Texas Hand Center.
