Dr. Terry Orr wins U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association award: 5 things to know

The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association named Terry Orr, MD, winner of its John J. Clair Jr. Award, according to a Carson Valley Times report.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Every year, the John J. Clair Jr. Award is given to a person who provides exceptional service to the U.S. Ski Team or U.S. Snowboarding team.

 

2. Dr. Orr has volunteered with the USSA since 1988. He serves as the head team physician for the U.S. Ski Team and USSA Men’s Alpine team.

 

3. He also volunteered to provide medical coverage for four Winter Olympics.

 

4. Dr. Orr is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon practicing at Tahoe Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in South Lake Tahoe, Calif.

 

5. Dr. Orr completed his sports medicine fellowship at Tahoe Fracture Orthopedic Clinic in Carson City, Nev.
