The surgery repaired a ruptured right patellar tendon that was injured during last Saturday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks. He went up for a rebound and grabbed the knee on his way down, which caused him to land awkwardly on his left ankle.
Mr. Butler may not return to play this season.
