The patient was diagnosed with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip and received her surgery at the Shriners Hospitals for Children in Greenville. Physicians hope the surgery will mean the patient can reach developmental stages, such as crawling and walking, earlier than if they had waited the regular 10 or 12 months before performing the surgery.
