Mr. Adebayo had surgery at Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center in Los Angeles to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right thumb, according to a Dec. 7 tweet. He is expected to miss four to six weeks of the season to recover.
Mr. Adebayo injured his thumb during a game against the Denver Nuggets, ESPN reported Dec. 1.
