MusicCares is the Grammy’s charitable arm that provides medical assistance for musicians without adequate medical insurance, along with human services for struggling musicians. Dr. Powell, a founding member of Sha Na Na, earned his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and completed his fellowship in sports medicine at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles.
Dr. Powell co-founded Stetson Powell Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in 2005.
