Dr. Scott Martin Performs Shoulder Surgery on New England Revolution’s Stephen McCarthy

Scott Martin, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Massachusetts General Health Care Center in Foxborough, and team physician for the New England Revolution soccer team recently performed shoulder surgery on Revolution midfielder Stephen McCarthy, according to a team news report.

Dr. Martin performed an arthroscopic labrum repair of Mr. McCarthy’s left shoulder. The injury was originally sustained in May and re-injured three times over the course of this season. Mr. McCarthy will miss the remainder of this season, but is expected to begin rehabilitation and be ready for the start of the 2012 season.
