Dr. Robert Watkins to Perform Microdiscectomy on New York Yankee Kevin Youkilis

On Thursday, Robert Watkins, MD, board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon, is scheduled to perform a microdiscectomy on the New York Yankees first and third baseman Kevin Youkilis, according to an NY Daily News report.

Dr. Watkins is the co-director of the Marina Spine Center in Marina del Rey, Calif.

The player is expected to remain in California for the duration of his physical therapy.
