1. After having two spine surgeries during the offseason on the same disc, Mr. Watt needed a third surgery to correct the issue. Mr. Watt attempted to play earlier in the season, but was feeling uncharacteristic. He sought medical attention and physicians advised him to undergo a revisionary discectomy.

 

2. Dr. Watkins, of California-based Watkins Spine, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon. He has extensive experience in spine surgery and in treating athletes.

 

3. Dr. Watkins has authored several textbooks and articles on spine surgery.
