Although expected to see Dr. Neal ElAttrache, a Dodgers team physician, Mr. Blake was examined by Dr. Watkins, who concluded that the inflammation also caused pain in Mr. Blake’s lower rib cage, according to the report. Dr. Watkins did not find evidence of a strain in the oblique or intercostal muscle.

Mr. Blake had reported back tightness on Saturday.
