Dr. Robert Hotchkiss operates on Penguins’ star Sidney Crosby

Robert Hotchkiss, MD, performed wrist surgery on Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby Sept. 1, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

1. Dr. Hotchkiss performed an arthroscopic wrist debridement surgery on Mr. Crosby.

2. The team expects Mr. Crosby will need up to four weeks to recover.

3. Dr. Hotchkiss is an orthopedic surgeon at New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery.

4. He was assisted by Penguins team physician Dharmesh Vyas, MD, and Pittsburgh-based UPMC’s hand and upper extremity surgery team.
