Dr. Robert Cochran: Opiates Can Treat Bipolar Disorder

In his new book, The Opiate Cure, Robert T. Cochran Jr., MD, writes that psychiatric illnesses falling in the bipolar spectrum can be managed and even cured by opiates, according to a news release.

Dr. Cochran presents case studies, observations, analysis and correspondences with patients in this book. Although opiates have gotten a bad reputation from increased abuse in the past few years, he says carefully measured administration can be safe and effective.
