Dr. Robert Anderson repairs shoulder, ankle of Vikings’ Pat Elflein — 4 insights

Robert Anderson, MD, performed a pair of surgeries on Minnesota Vikings’ center Pat Elflein, who’ll start the season on the physically unable to perform list as a result, the Minnesota StarTribune reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Mr. Elflein had a surgery to repair both his shoulder and his left ankle.

2. He will start the season on the PUP list as he recovers from the procedures.

3. Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer said Mr. Elflein would stay on the PUP list, “until he gets healthy and the doctors say he can go. … He is getting better every day.”

4. Dr. Anderson is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at Bellin Health Titletown Sports Medicine and Orthopedics in Green Bay, Wis. He serves as a team physician for the Green Bay Packers.
