Dr. Robert Anderson performs ankle surgery on Cleveland Indians’ Michael Brantley: 4 highlights

Robert Anderson, MD, performed arthroscopic ankle surgery on Cleveland Indians left fielder Michael Brantley, according the MLB.

Here are four highlights:

 

1. Mr. Brantley suffered an injury to his right ankle a few months back. After experiencing pain for two months, the left fielder finally sought out surgery.

 

2. Dr. Anderson performed surgery to stabilize ligaments in Mr. Brantley’s ankle. Cleveland’s starter is expected to return in four to five months.

 

3. The Indians are not sure if Mr. Brantley will be able to return for spring training in February. The team and Dr. Anderson will continue to evaluate Mr. Brantley during the off season.

 

4. Dr. Anderson is an orthopedic foot and ankle specialists at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, N.C. He is the team physician for the Carolina Panthers and past president of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
