Dr. Richard Steadman Performs Knee Surgery on Trail Blazers’ Greg Oden

Richard Steadman, MD, co-founder of The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., recently performed knee surgery on Portland Trail Blazers center Greg Oden, according to a Businessworld report.

Mr. Oden originally underwent a minor procedure on his knee to clear out debris, but Dr. Steadman found additional damage and performed microfracture surgery, according to a Fox News report. The most recent procedure is Mr. Oden’s second microfracture surgery on his left knee. He has also undergone one microfracture surgery in his right knee and surgery for a fractured left knee cap.

The most recent surgery will prevent him from returning to play during the 2011-2012 NBA season.
