Dr. Peter Asnis performs knee surgery on NHL defenseman

Peter Asnis, MD, performed surgery to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament in the right knee of Boston Bruins defenseman Jakub Zboril, the NHL team announced Dec. 21.

Three notes:

1. The surgery was performed at Mass General Brigham in Boston on Dec. 16. Mr. Zboril suffered a torn ACL during the Bruins’ game against the Nashville Predators on Dec. 2.

2. Mr. Zboril is expected to miss the remainder of the 2021-22 regular season.

3. Dr. Asnis is Mass General Brigham director of professional sports and serves as head team physician for the Bruins, head team orthopedic surgeon for the Boston Red Sox and team physician for the New England Patriots.
