Dr. Neal ElAttrache to perform Tommy John surgery on Yankees’ James Kaprielian

Neal ElAttrache, MD, of Los Angeles-based Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic will perform Tommy John surgery on New York Yankees top pitching prospect James Kaprielian next week, according to NY Daily News.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. Mr. Kaprielian experienced right elbow soreness last week and underwent an MRI exam and a dye-contrast MRI, according to The New York Post.

 

2. Dr. ElAttrache confirmed Yankees team physicians’ diagnosis of Mr. Kaprielian’s elbow during a consultation on Tuesday, April 11, according to the report.

    
3. Dr. ElAttrache will perform the Tommy John surgery on Tuesday, April 18 in Los Angeles.

 

4. Mr. Kaprielian missed most of last season due to a flexor tendon injury.
