Here’s what you should know.

1. Mr. Ramirez partially tore his UCL at the end of last season. He received stem cell therapy to treat the injury in 2017 and was considered healthy going into the 2018 season.

2. After pitching through spring training, Mr. Ramirez exited April 7 with forearm tightness. It was later confirmed he fully tore his UCL. He’ll miss the entire 2018 season.

3. Dr. ElAttrache is an orthopedic surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles. He is chairman of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Foundation board and program director for the Kerlan-Jobe fellowship.

4. He is the head team physician for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Rams. He is also an orthopedic consultant to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks and the PGA Tour.
