Here are four points:
1. Mr. Rodon suffered from significant bursitis in his left shoulder, which required surgery to repair.
2. Dr. ElAttrache expects Mr. Rodon to return in six to eight months. He is expected to be healthy for the start of next season.
3. Mr. Rodon started the season on the disable list after undergoing surgery during the 2016-17 offseason as well. However, during the most recent surgery, no rotator cuff or labrum damage was found.
4. Dr. Neal ElAttrache is an orthopedic surgeon at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. He is a member of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic board of directors, chairman of the board of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Foundation and program director for the Kerlan-Jobe Fellowship.
