Dr. O’Malley is an associate attending orthopedic surgeon and fellowship director of the foot and ankle service at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. The procedure performed by Dr. O’Malley included tightening the lateral ankle ligaments as well as repairing a torn tendon in Mr. Lopez’s left ankle, according to the report.
