Dr. Mark Safran completes knee surgery on US tennis player

Marc R. Safran, MD, completed right knee surgery on U.S. tennis player Jared Donaldson at Stanford (Calif.) University Medical Center, on May 1.

Dr. Safran is the chief of the division of sports medicine, fellowship director of sports medicine and professor of orthopedic surgery at SUMC.

He specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopic and ligament reconstructive surgery on the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee.

Dr. Safran is actively involved with U.S. professional tennis teams and is a consultant for the NBA Players Association and NHL Players Association.
