Dr. Gilligan previously served as an assistant team physician for the Boston Red Sox and currently serves as head team physician for a local high school. He has a professional interest in treating knee ligament and shoulder injuries. He is a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Massachusetts Orthopaedic Association.
Dr. Gilligan earned his medical degree at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the State University of New York at Stonybrook. His additional training includes a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the University of Massachusetts.
