Dr. Marc Philippon Performs Hip Surgery on Royals’ Johnny Giavotella

Marc Philippon, MD, a hip surgeon at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo., recently performed his surgery on Kansas City Royals second baseman Johnny Giavotella, according to a report from The Sacramento Bee.

Dr. Philippon performed surgery to repair a labral tear in Mr. Giavotella’s right hip. Mr. Giavotella is expected to spend the next 10-12 weeks recovering and should be ready to return to play by the beginning of the 2012 spring training.
