Mr. Stanton is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks and will most likely rejoin the team by mid-August.
Dr. Kaplan, who serves as the medical director of the Miami Marlins, is an associate professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and the chief at the medical school’s UHealth Sports Medicine Division.
