Keith Meister, MD, performed an arthroscopic debridement and bursectomy on the right shoulder of Cleveland Indians’ pitcher Danny Salazar, MLB.com reports.

1. Mr. Salazar will miss the rest of the 2018 season. He’ll need up to 18 weeks to rehabilitate from the procedure.

2. He dealt with shoulder inflammation all year, starting and ending the 2018 season on the disabled list.

3. Dr. Meister is the head team physician for the Texas Rangers and director of Arlington, Texas-based TMI Sports Medicine.

4. He previously served as the head team physician for the NHL’s Dallas Stars, NBA D-League’s Ft. Worth Flyers, Gainesville-based University of Florida Athletics and USA Hockey.
