Dr. Joshua Rovner 1st to use new 3D-printed spine implant

Joshua Rovner, MD, is the first spine surgeon to implant Globus Medical’s Hedron IA, a 3D-printed anterior lumbar interbody fusion spacer.

1. Dr. Rovner performed the procedure at Englewood (N.J.) Health.

2. Surgeons can place the implant in minimally invasive outpatient procedures, lowering patient exposure to potential complications.

3. The implant uses biomimetic porous scaffolds to promote bone foundation and growth.

4. Globus vice president of product development Mark Adams said the implant is the latest in Globus’ line of “innovative musculoskeletal solutions that advance our market leading position.”
