Dr. Joseph Maroon performs neck surgery on WWE star Jason Jordan: 4 highlights

Joseph Maroon, MD, performed minimally invasive neck surgery on World Wrestling Entertainment champion Jason Jordan, according to CBS Sports.

1. Mr. Jordan suffered from injury in his neck. Mr. Maroon performed the surgery to decompress the nerve causing Mr. Jordan significant pain.

 

2. It is unclear when Mr. Jordan will return. Recently, it was reported his neck injury was more serious than initial believed to be.

 

3. Dr. Maroon is a neurosurgeon and vice chairman of neurosurgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

 

4. Dr. Maroon is the medical director for the WWE and has served as the team neurosurgeon for the Pittsburgh Steelers since 1981.
