Dr. John Elfar Receives American Orthopaedic Association’s North American Traveling Fellowship

John C. Elfar, MD, an orthopedic surgeon at the University of Rochester (N.Y) Medical Center, was recently awarded the North American Traveling Fellowship by the American Orthopaedic Association, according to a University of Rochester news release.

Dr. Elfar is an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center and has a professional interest in hand surgery. During the fellowship, he will tour the western section of North America to serve as an emissary for improvement of academic orthopedics and exchange clinical and scientific information.

Dr. Elfar earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston and completed his residency at URMC. His professional interest is in sports- related hand injuries and he serves as the team hand surgeon for the University of Rochester.
