Dr. John Cowin Among First to Help Wounded at Boston Marathon

John Cowin, MD, of Florida Musculoskeletal Institute, was among the first to help wounded victims of last week’s bombing attack at the Boston Marathon, according to an Orlando Sentinel report.

Dr. Cowin was near the finish line waiting for this daughter, who was a participant in the race, to cross the finish line, according to the report. He attended to people with severe injuries as one of the first physicians on the scene. He has experience as a military physician stationed in the Philippines.

Dr. Cowin is also the chief of staff at Leesburg Regional Medical Center and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
