He attended to people with severe injuries as one of the first physicians on the scene. He has experience as a military physician stationed in the Philippines.
Dr. Cowin is also the chief of staff at Leesburg Regional Medical Center and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
