Dr. James O’Mara named Mississippi Sports Medicine Person of the Year: 4 points

The Mississippi Athletics Trainers Association named James O’Mara, MD, its 2016 Mississippi Sports Medicine Person of the Year, according to The Clarion-Ledger.

1. Dr. O’Mara was honored for his commitment to the association’s mission, which is to educate and promote the advancement of athletic trainers in Mississippi.

 

2. He is a team physician for athletes at Delta State University in Cleveland, Miss., and Mississippi College in Clinton.

 

3. He previously served as team physician for the Alabama Mississippi All- Star Football game.

 

4. Dr. O’Mara completed a fellowship in sports medicine and knee surgery at American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Ala.
