Dr. James Andrews treats Cardinals pitcher Carlos Martinez

Cardinals pitcher Carlos Martinez visited James Andrews, MD, to receive a platelet-rich plasma injection in his right shoulder, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

With reported shoulder weakness, Mr. Martinez received the PRP injection after a series of exams confirmed there was no structural damage in his shoulder. The treatment is intended to help Mr. Martinez’ joint heal during the offseason.
