Dr. James Andrews to examine Red Sox’ Pablo Sandoval for shoulder injury: 4 notes

James Andrews, MD, is scheduled to examine Red Sox third baseman Pablo Sandoval, according to a Daily Journal report.

1. Dr. Andrews will give Mr. Sandoval a second opinion on his strained left shoulder.

 

2. Dr. Andrews is the founder of the Andrews Institute for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla. He is president and chairman of the board of the Andrews Research and Education Foundation.

 

3. He is also working with the Children’s Medical Center Plano (Texas) to create the Children’s Health Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.

 

4. He is a senior consultant for the Washington Redskins and the orthopedic medical director for the Tampa Bay Rays.
