James Andrews, MD, performed Tommy John surgery on Philadelphia Phillies rookie pitcher Jensen Therrien, The Inquirer reports.

1. Mr. Therrien was shut down after appearing in a game Sept. 4. The young pitcher’s velocity was down from what he regularly threw in the minor leagues.

 

2. The Phillies expect Mr. Therrien will miss the 2018 season.

 

3. Dr. Andrews is a founding partner of Gulf Breeze, Fla.-based Andrews Institute for Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine. He is one of the leading orthopedic surgeons in the world, and his center is internationally recognized for its sports medicine treatment.
