Dr. James Andrews Performs Shoulder Surgery on Pitcher Rich Harden

James Andrews, MD, recently performed shoulder surgery on free agent Rich Harden, according to a San Francisco Chronicle report.

Mr. Harden is a pitcher who was most recently signed with the Oakland Athletics. He first sustained an injury to his shoulder in 2007 and recently decided on surgery after the injury began to impact his performance.

Mr. Harden’s shoulder required a full invasive procedure for the repair and he is expected to spend the entire 2012 season out of play.
