Mr. Martinez previously tore his ACL in 2012. This time, he suffered a torn meniscus in the same knee and Dr. Andrews performed the repair this past week. Mr. Martinez could return for opening day, or late April, according to the report.
Dr. Andrews is the founder of Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Fla. He treats several professional athletes, and performed knee surgery on Philadelphia 76ers’ Tony Wroten earlier this week as well.
