Dr. Dharmesh Vyas performs ankle surgery on Penguins defenseman

Dharmesh Vyas, MD, PhD, surgically repaired lacerated tendons in the left ankle of Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Brian Dumoulin on Dec. 1, the team announced.

Dr. Vyas successfully operated on Mr. Dumoulin’s ankle in collaboration with MaCalus Hogan, MD, and John Fowler, MD, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.

Mr. Dumoulin was injured Nov. 30 in a game against the St. Louis Blues. He is expected to miss at least eight weeks of play.

Dr. Vyas serves as the Penguins’ team physician.
