Dr. David Altchek to Perform Elbow Surgery on New York Met Jeurys Familia

Today, David Altchek, MD, board-certified orthopedic surgeon and medical director of the New York Mets, is scheduled to perform elbow surgery on the Mets’ relief pitcher Jeurys Familia, according to an ESPN New York report.

Dr. Altchek will perform the procedure on the pitcher’s right elbow to remove bone spurs. The surgery will take place at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
